Babies and diapers are inseparable. You put your baby in a diaper with the aim that your child does not urinate or defecate carelessly. The use of diapers also makes it easier for you to care for your little one. But according to research it turns out that diapers can slow down your child's ability to walk? Is it true that diapers make it difficult for children to walk?

How do diapers make it difficult for children to walk?

According to research conducted by the University of New York, diapers make it difficult for children to learn to walk. The study, which was conducted by psychologists, involved 60 babies who had started learning to walk or had already started walking.

In addition to causing diaper rash, prolonged use of diapers can also make it difficult for babies to learn to walk. This study involved 30 babies aged 13 months who had just learned to walk and babies aged 19 months who had started to walk. This research was conducted 3 times, namely when the baby was naked, wearing cloth diapers, and wearing disposable diapers.

Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that diapers can affect a baby's ability to walk. In 30 babies aged 13 months, when tested naked, only 10 babies fell. The baby who fell down grew to 17 when wearing disposable diapers. The number of babies falling increased to 21 when wearing larger cloth diapers.

While testing 30 babies aged 19 months, it was found that diaper use still had an effect on the baby's ability to walk, although it was not too prominent. The number of babies who fell was only 4 people while walking in disposable diapers or naked. When wearing cloth diapers, 8 babies fell. Babies tend to take wider and shorter steps when wearing diapers.

According to this study, diapers can cause disturbances between the legs, which can worsen the baby's balance and position. It can be concluded that diapers are a biomechanical disorder that occurs when babies learn to walk. This is the reason why diapers make it difficult for children to walk.

However, this study still requires further research on the long-term effects of diapers. It is highly recommended that you do not use diapers frequently at the age of the child who is starting to learn to walk. Wear it if you are going to travel. Diapers make your child immobile, which can affect movement of the legs and thighs. If not necessary allow your child to move freely.
