What is the function of Seduxen?

Seduxen® is a benzodiazepine type drug commonly used to treat anxiety, muscle spasms and convulsions.

How do you use Seduxen?

For the form that is taken by mouth, you must:

• Take Seduxen® as directed by your doctor, related to: dosage, schedule.
• Read labels carefully before using Seduxen®.
• Talk to your doctor about information on the label that you do not fully understand.
• Oral solution: measure the liquid medication taken by mouth with a measuring spoon, oral injection, or medicine cup.

How to save Seduxen?

This medication is best stored at room temperature, away from direct light and damp places. Don't keep it in the bathroom. Don't freeze it. Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules. Observe the storage instructions on the product package or ask your pharmacist. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.

Do not flush medicines down the toilet or down the drain unless instructed to do so. Discard this product when it has expired or when it is no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company about how to safely dispose of your product.

What should I pay attention to before using Seduxen?

Before using Seduxen®, tell your doctor if you:

• Have an allergic reaction to drugs, foods, dyes, preservatives, or animals
• Children
• Elderly
• Have used drugs for other health conditions that have a risk of interactions with seduxen®

Is Seduxen safe for pregnant and lactating women?

Use of this drug during pregnancy is not safe. This can harm the unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant.

Studies in breastfeeding women show a detrimental effect on the baby. An alternative to this medicine must be prescribed or you will have to stop breastfeeding while using this medicine.

Side effects

What are the possible side effects of Seduxen?

As with other drug use, using Seduxen® can cause some side effects. Most of these side effects are rare and do not require additional treatment. However, it is always important to consult a doctor if you experience problems after using this medicine.

Some of the side effects include:

• Trembling and walking unsteadily
• Shakiness
• Shaky
• Other problems with muscle control and coordination

Drug Interactions

What medicines should not be taken at the same time as Seduxen?

Are there certain health conditions that you should avoid Seduxen?

Seduxen® can interact with your health condition. These interactions can worsen your health condition or change the way the drugs work. It is important to always tell your doctor or pharmacist about any health conditions you are currently experiencing.

Do not use it if you have narrow-angle glaucoma or untreated open-angle glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, sleep apnea or severe breathing problems, or severe liver disease.

What is the Seduxen dosage for adults?

Consult your doctor about the Seduxen® hydrochloride dosage information. Recommended dosages for the oral dosage form in some cases are:

For anxiety:

2 to 10 milligrams (mg) two to four times per day. For older adults, the starting dose can be 2 to 2.5 milligrams (mg) once or twice per day and can be increased gradually if needed.

To break up alcohol:

10 milligrams (mg) three to four times during the first 24 hours, then 5 mg three to four times per day as needed. For older adults, the starting dose can be 2 to 2.5 milligrams (mg) once or twice per day and can be increased gradually if needed.

For muscle spasms:

2 to 10 milligrams (mg) three to four times per day. For older adults, the starting dose can be 2 to 2.5 milligrams (mg) once or twice per day and can be increased gradually if needed.

For seizures:

2 to 10 milligrams (mg) two to four times per day. For older adults, the starting dose can be 2 to 2.5 milligrams (mg) once or twice per day and can be increased gradually if needed.

What is the dose of Seduxen for children?

Consult your doctor about the Seduxen® hydrochloride dosage information. Recommended dosages for the oral dosage form in some cases are:

Seduxen® is available in tablet, capsule, Extended Release: 1 mg, 2.5 mg.

What should I do in an emergency or overdose?

In the event of an emergency or overdose, contact the local emergency services provider (119) or immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.

What should I do if I forget to take / take medicine?

If you forget a dose of this medicine, use it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
