What is the dosage for cefotaxime + sulbactam for adults?
Taken by mouth for genitourinary and lower respiratory tract infections
For adults with mild to moderate infections use 1 / 0.5 gram to 2/1 gram of cefotaxime / Sulbactam every 8-12 hours.
Meanwhile, for moderate to severe infections: 1 / 0.5 gram to 2/1 gram of cefotaxime / Sulbactam every 6-8 hours.
Maximum dose: Sulbactam: Adults: 4 g. Children: 80 mg / kg per day in divided doses.
What is the dosage of cefotaxime + sulbactam for children?
Taken by mouth for genitourinary and lower respiratory tract infections.
Children can get a dose of 100/50 mg to 150/75 mg Cefotaxime / Sulbactam / kg per day in 3 divided doses. If the infection is life-threatening, the dose of Cefotaxime can be increased to 12 grams per day.
