1. Fever

Don't exercise if you don't feel well, even if you have a fever. Fever occurs when the body's immune system is working hard to fight an infection. Meanwhile, exercise can also put more stress on the immune system. This is why exercising when you have a fever will only aggravate your illness.

Exercising when you have a fever is also often a major cause of injury, because it makes it more difficult for you to concentrate.

2. Colds and flu

Apart from fever, you are also not advised to exercise when you have colds and flu. Under normal circumstances, exercise will indeed boost your immune system, but things turn around when you have a cold or flu. The reason is, exercise will actually make your body weaker, making it difficult to recover. Especially if your flu is also accompanied by a fever, your condition will obviously get worse if you add exercise.

3. Asthma

If your asthma attack is caused by a respiratory infection, you should skip exercise for a few days and see a doctor if symptoms persist. If the doctor sees that your asthma has begun to be well controlled, then you can exercise.

However, don't jump into high-intensity sports. It's a good idea to start the exercise slowly by warming up for 10 minutes. Stop exercising immediately if you can't catch your breath or feel tired and weak. Most importantly, always carry an inhaler or other medication in case your asthma recurs at any time.

4. Old injuries that come back

If your old injury suddenly recurs, you should immediately postpone exercise and see a doctor. In many cases, sudden onset of pain requires immediate medical attention, especially if the source of the pain is in an area where there has been a previous injury.

5. Lack of sleep and fatigue

A body that is already stressed and tired will drop even more when invited to exercise. Take a short break before starting your gym routine again.

6. Pregnant

Ask your doctor about an exercise program that is safe to do while pregnant. Yoga, swimming, walking and low intensity exercise can be of great benefit during pregnancy. 7. Other circumstances

Apart from being pregnant, you also shouldn't exercise if you have recently had surgery or have had a serious injury. In that state, your body needs time to recover. Meanwhile, doing sports will actually put pressure on the body which in turn can worsen your condition.
