Benefits of trampoline exercise
1. Healthier than running
A study conducted by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) showed that running puts a heavier load on the ankle and lower leg. According to a study published in the Australian Journal of Rural Health, doing regular trampoline exercise three times per week for 20 to 30 minutes over a period of nine weeks resulted in positive changes in blood sugar test results and body mass index in people with type 2 diabetes.
Even more interestingly, these positive effects of exercise don't just apply to people with diabetes or prediabetes. Based on research conducted on people with normal glucose (sugar) levels, it was found that high-intensity trampoline exercise for 50 minutes was able to reduce glucose levels effectively during and after exercise. The research was conducted in 2016 and published in The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness.
5. Reduces back pain
One of the most surprising benefits of trampoline exercise is reducing back pain. This is based on a study published in the Polish Journal of Sport and Tourism. Middle-aged people who do trampoline exercise for 21 days are known to have increased functional capacity which significantly reduces back pain.
However, before starting this exercise you are advised to consult a doctor first. The reason is, jumping too much or too high for some people who already have back pain can make their situation worse.
