What is Acrivastine used for?

Acrivastine is a medication to treat allergy symptoms.

Before you start this treatment, read the manufacturer's information printed on the brochure that comes with your package. The manufacturer's brochure will provide more information on Acrivastine capsules and a complete list of the side effects you may experience while taking the drug.

The recommended dose for adults and children over 12 years of age is one capsule taken as needed up to three times a day. You can take the capsules before or after meals.

If you forget to take a dose, don't worry, you just need to take the next dose when needed and then continue as before. Don't take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.

Acrivastine can be taken without or with food.

How do I store Acrivastine?

What should be considered before using Acrivastine drugs?

To make sure this is the right treatment for you, before you start taking Acrivastine it is highly recommended that you discuss treatment with your doctor or pharmacist if:

• You are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding
• You are over 65 years of age
• You have kidney problems
• You have porphyria (a rare inherited blood disorder)
• You are taking or using other drugs. This includes medicines that you take and are available without a prescription for, such as herbal medicines and other complementary medicines
• You have an allergic reaction to other antihistamines, or to other medicines

Is Acrivastine safe for pregnant and lactating women?

There is no adequate research on the risks of using this drug in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Always consult your doctor to weigh the potential benefits and risks before using this medication. This medicine is included in the risk of pregnancy category B.

Side effects

What are the possible side effects of Acrivastine?

Some of the side effects you may get: CNS depression include insomnia, fatigue, dizziness, incoordination. Headache, psychomotor disorders and antimuscarinic effect. Rarely, a rash and hypersensitivity reactions; blood disorders, seizures, sweating, myalgia, extrapyramidal effects, tremors, confusion, tinnitus, hypotension, hair loss.

Not everyone experiences the following side effects. There may be some side effects not listed above. If you have concerns about certain side effects, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

What drugs can interfere with the action of the drug Acrivastine?

Although some drugs should not be taken at the same time, in other cases some drugs can also be used together even though interactions may occur. What should I do if I forget to take medicine or forget to take medicine?

If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
