When the immune system is weak, the body becomes unable to fight viruses, bacteria, and germs that cause disease. As a result, you also become more susceptible to disease and infection from people around who are sick.

For that, know some diseases that often occur when your immune system weakens.

1. Colds

Colds are the disease that you most often experience, especially in the rainy season. Although in a few days you will recover, the symptoms can certainly interfere with activities. You will feel a runny nose, itching, and keep sneezing. Also, the throat will feel sore within a day or two followed by symptoms of cough, headache, and watery eyes.

This disease is caused by various types of viruses, such as rhinovirus, coronavirus, or adenovirus that attack the respiratory tract. The virus passes from a sick person to a healthy person through droplets or droplets of water from coughs or sneezes released by the sick person. People who have a weak immune system, experience fatigue, or feel emotional distress are usually more prone to this disease.

2. Flu

Just like colds, flu or influenza are transmitted in the same way and the virus also attacks the respiratory tract. The difference is, flu is caused by influenza A, influenza B, and influenza C. Although at first glance, the flu symptoms usually appear more severe than colds. Flu symptoms include cold symptoms but accompanied by chills, body aches, nausea, vomiting, and even diarrhea.

Flu and colds are very contagious. If people around you are exposed to one of these diseases, chances are you will also catch it, especially if your immune condition is weak.

3. Typhus

Typhus or typhoid fever is more common in children because their immune system is not yet perfect. However, adults who have weak immune systems can also get this disease. Typhus is caused by bacteria Salmonella typi which enter the body through contaminated food or drink. The bacteria can survive for weeks in the water or feces excreted by the patient.

After ingesting contaminated food or water, bacteria will invade the intestines and enter the bloodstream and are carried by white blood cells in the liver, spleen and spinal cord. Typhoid symptoms include fever up to 40 degrees Celsius, recovery, headache, weakness, diarrhea, poor appetite, abdominal pain, and body aches. Often breaking the fast with food sold on the side of the road, "cleanliness is not guaranteed" could be the cause of you getting typhus.

How do you increase endurance?

Simply put, if you want to live a healthy life free from disease, then you have to have a strong immune system. Improving a better and healthier lifestyle can increase the immune response to disease. Start with the consumption of vegetables and fruit at dawn or iftar with portions that suit your needs.

Foods rich in vitamin C are able to stimulate the growth of white blood cells and other components in the body so that it supports a stronger immune system. Not only from food, you can also get vitamin C from supplements containing vitamin C, echinacea, and ginseng. However, consult your doctor first before you take additional supplements.

Also make sure to always get enough rest time. Have clean habits, such as washing your hands frequently. Don't forget, always take the time to exercise regularly even though you are busy and reduce stress.
