Functions & Usage
What is Cefoxitin used for?
Cefoxitin is an antibiotic drug to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication can also be used before and during certain surgeries to help prevent infection.
Cefoxitin is a drug that belongs to a class of antibiotics called cephalosporins. Cefoxitin works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
Antibiotics such as cefoxitin will not work for viral infections such as colds and flu. Using unnecessary antibiotics increases your risk of getting an infection later in life that is resistant to antibiotic treatment. Use only as directed by your doctor.

Before using it, check this product visually for particles or discoloration. If one or both of these conditions occur, do not use liquid medications. Continue to use this medication until the prescribed treatment period is over, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping treatment too early can result in a recurrence of the infection.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or gets worse.
Follow the rules given by your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
