Function
What is Glurenorm?
Glurenorm is an oral antidiabetic drug intended for patients with type two diabetes. This drug works to lower blood sugar levels in the body of people with type two diabetes. Control of blood sugar with Glurenorm and accompanied by a proper diet and exercise program can prevent kidney damage, nerve problems, blindness, possible amputations, and problems with sexual function. Proper blood sugar control can also lower your risk of having a heart attack and stroke.
Gliquidone is the main active ingredient in Glurenorm. This drug belongs to the sulfonylurea class of diabetes treatment. The way Glurenorm works is by stimulating the release of insulin by the pancreas, especially after eating. In addition, the gliquidone in this drug also helps the movement of sugar from the blood into cells that need it. Gliquidone contained in glurenorm is used in adult diabetic patients who are not yet dependent on insulin (non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus / NIDDM).
