You must consume fruits and vegetables every day. Besides being eaten directly, you can enjoy it by making it into juice. However, not all fruits and vegetables can be juiced, either in a juicer or in a blender. What are the fruits and vegetables? Come on, see the list and the reasons below.

Fruits and vegetables that cannot be juiced

According to the British Nutrition Foundation, fruits and vegetables contain various nutrients that the body needs, ranging from vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein. You can enjoy both in various ways, eaten directly or processed first, such as making juice.

Well, to make juice, you can use a juicer or blender. Juicers are used to obtain juices from vegetables and fruit. Meanwhile, a blender is used to puree fruits and vegetables so that they are easier to consume.

However, not all fruits and vegetables can be juiced, either in a blender or in a juicer, such as:

1. Avocado

Avocado is the only fruit that contains healthy fats that are good for the heart. If you want to make juice, you should use a blender instead of a juicer. Why?

This fruit does not contain a lot of water, so it is more suitable for blending or you can also crush it with a spoon. The reason is, the texture of the avocado is very easy to mash. If you use a juicer, you will not get the full nutrition of the avocado.

2. Broccoli

The best way to enjoy broccoli is to eat it whole without juicing it. Unlike the avocado fruit, vegetables with vitamin C should not be made into juice because it will be more difficult to digest and cause digestive problems.

You can experience flatulence or upset stomach. Not only broccoli, also avoid similar vegetables, such as cauliflower or cabbage for juice because it will have the same effect.

3. Apples

Apart from broccoli and avocado, apples are also included in a row of fruits that cannot be juiced. If you make juice using a juicer, apple flesh that contains fiber will be wasted. You don't get the nutrients in their entirety.

Meanwhile, if you make the juice in a blender, it is likely that the seeds will be mashed too. You need to know that apple seeds, especially those that are still raw, contain amygdalin. Amygdalin when consumed in large quantities can cause poisoning.

4. Pear

Fruit that contains a lot of water is suitable for juicing with a juicer. Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to pears. Just like broccoli and similar vegetables, pears that are made juice will affect your digestive system.

Pears are known to contain sorbitol, which is a sugar that is slow to digest by the body and can stimulate bowel movements. In people who are constipated, this juice may bring benefits. However, in people who have diarrhea, this juice can make the symptoms worse.

In fact, this fruit is not forbidden to juice. However, it would be better if consumed directly to get the healthy fiber at once.

If you juice it with a juicer, it is likely that you will use far more pears than eaten straight. Of course, the sorbitol content is higher. This could lead to diarrhea.

5. Oranges

Apart from broccoli and apples, oranges are also on the list of fruits that you shouldn't make into juice. Especially if you blend it together with the skin. Orange peels contain compounds that can irritate the digestive system, causing digestive problems, such as stomach upset.

This fruit is not right for you to juice with a juicer because it will reduce its fiber content. To get complete nutrition, it would be better if oranges are consumed directly.

6. Bananas

Just like avocado, banana also cannot be used as juice with a juicer. The reason is, this fruit is dense enough that it will not provide much water.

This fruit is better for you to make smoothies than juice. Add other ingredients, such as yogurt, orange, honey, or almond milk for a better taste.

7. Pineapple

Pineapple is a fruit that has a lot of water so it is easy to process into a glass of juice. Unfortunately, juicing pineapple juice does not get you the fruit's full nutrition. So, the best way to get this fruit, which is eaten directly.
