Gofen 400 is a drug used to relieve pain associated with colds, flu, headaches, toothaches, muscle pain, back pain, minor pain from arthritis, menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) and fever.

Do not take more than the recommended dose. An ibuprofen overdose can damage the stomach or intestines. The maximum amount of ibuprofen for adults is 800 milligrams per dose or 3200 mg per day (4 doses maximum). Use only the smallest amount necessary to relieve your pain, swelling, or fever.

Drug Interactions

What medicines should not be taken at the same time as Gofen 400?

• Simultaneous use with ibuprofen can reduce the effects of antihypertensive drugs (ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers), diuretics (furosemide, hypothiazide).
• Simultaneous use with anticoagulants can increase the effect.
• Simultaneous use with SCS increases the risk of side effects from the gastrointestinal tract.
• Simultaneous use can replace the compound with an indirect anticoagulant plasma protein (acenocoumarol), a derivative of hydantoin (phenytoin), a sulfonylurea derivative oral hypoglycemic drug.
• Simultaneous use of amlodipine may slightly reduce the antihypertensive action of amlodipine, with acetylsalicylic acid: decrease the concentration of ibuprofen in the blood plasma, with baclofen: increase the toxicity of baclofen.
