Take Moxonidine exactly as directed by your doctor. Usually start by taking 1 tablet (200 micrograms) daily in the morning, although your doctor may increase the dose after a few weeks if needed. Swallow the tablet while drinking water. Taking medication after or before meals has no effect.

Hypertension

Adults: 200 mcg once daily, increase if needed after 3 weeks to 400 mcg for 1 dose or in 2 separate doses. If needed, after more than 3 weeks, increase to 600 mcg daily in 2 separate doses.

Maximum: 600 mcg per day.
