What is the dosage for Nalmefene for adults?
Common Adult Dose for Reversing Opioid Sedation
Initial dose: 0.25 mcg / kg intravenously once as the starting dose, followed by an additional 0.25 mcg / kg dose at 2 to 5 minute intervals until the opioid reversal process is complete.
If there is no response after the cumulative dose of 1 mcg / kg registered, the additional dose will have no effect.
If there is a reason for opioid dependence, an initial dose of 0.1 mg / 70 kg IV should be registered. If, within 2 minutes, there is no reverse response, the recommended dosage should be continued.
If IV access is not available, give 1 mg intravenously or through a muscle.
