Norgestimate is a drug used as an oral contraceptive (birth control pill), or as a progestogen component in menopausal hormone replacement therapy, or for atrophic vaginitis and prophylaxis of osteoporosis.

What is the Norgestimate dosage for adults?

As part of combined oral contraceptives: Typical dose of monophasic preparations: 250 mcg / day; triphasic preparation: 180-250 mcg / day.
For atrophic vaginitis, menopausal hormone replacement, and osteoporosis: Treatment is carried out in cycles and includes 1 estradiol tablet 1 mg once daily for 3 days, followed by 1 mg estradiol tablet and norgestimate 0.09 mg once daily for 3 days; repeat the 6-day cycle on an ongoing basis.

What is the dosage of Norgestimate for children?

There is no provision for the dosage of this drug for children. This medicine can be dangerous for children. It is important to understand the safety of drugs before use. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

• Tell your doctor if you have untreated abnormal vaginal bleeding, history or progress of thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic abnormalities. Active or recent (within 1 year) arterial thromboembolic disease such as stroke, MI, breast carcinoma, estrogen-dependent tumors, liver disease or damage.

Is Norgestimate safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Overdose

What should I do in an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or overdose, contact the local emergency services provider (119) or immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
