Functions & Usage
What is Oxiconazole used for?
Oxiconazole is a drug to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm and tinea versicolor on the skin of the neck, chest, arms, or legs. Oxiconazole is an azole antifungal that works by preventing mold growth.
What are the rules for using Oxiconazole drugs?
Use this remedy on the skin only. Clean and dry the area to be treated properly. Apply this medication to the affected skin, usually once or twice daily or as directed by your doctor. The dosage and length of treatment depend on the type of infection being treated. Do not apply this medication more often than recommended. Your condition will not recover any sooner, and side effects can be increased.
Apply enough cream or lotion to cover the affected area and some of the skin around it. If using lotion, shake the bottle well before using it. Use a cotton ball or soft cloth to apply the lotion. After applying this remedy, wash your hands. Do not wrap, cover or bandage the applied area with this medicine unless directed by your doctor.
Do not apply this medication to the eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina.
Use this remedy regularly to get its full benefits. Remember to use it at the same time every day.
Continue to use this medication until the prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after starting oxiconazole use. Stopping treatment too early allows the fungus to continue growing and can result in a recurrence of the infection.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve after 2-4 weeks of treatment or gets worse over time.
Follow the rules given by your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
How to store Oxiconazole?
This medication is best stored at room temperature, away from direct light and damp places. Don't keep it in the bathroom. Don't freeze it. Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules. Observe the storage instructions on the product package or ask your pharmacist. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Do not flush medicines down the toilet or down the drain unless instructed to do so. Discard this product when it has expired or when it is no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company about how to safely dispose of your product.
Precautions & Warnings
What should be considered before using the drug Oxiconazole?
In deciding to use this drug, the risks of using the drug must be weighed against its benefits. This is up to you and your doctor. For this drug, the following should be considered:
Allergy
Tell your doctor if you have had any unusual or allergic reactions to this medicine or any other medicines. Also tell your health care professional if you have any other types of allergies, such as to food, dyes, preservatives, or animals. For non-prescription products, read the label or list of ingredients that make up the medicine on the package carefully.
Children
Oxiconazole cream has been tested in children and in an effective dosage, it has not been shown to cause any different side effects or problems than its use in adults. However, ringworm is rare in children under 12 years of age.
Elderly
Many drugs have not been studied specifically in the elderly. Therefore, it may not be known whether this drug works in the same way as it does in young adults. Although there is no specific information comparing the use of topical oxiconazole in the elderly with that used in other age groups, it is not expected that this drug causes side effects or problems in the elderly that are different from that in young adults.

Side effects
What are the possible side effects of Oxiconazole?
Serious side effects from topical use of oxiconazole are not to be expected. Stop using oxiconazole and call your doctor if you experience regular or severe skin blisters, itching, redness, peeling, dryness, or irritation of the skin.
Not everyone experiences the following side effects. There may be some side effects not listed above. If you have concerns about certain side effects, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Drug Interactions
What drugs can interfere with the drug Oxiconazole?
