Fight laziness in 3 easy steps

Laziness, or what is now more commonly referred to as "mager" aka lazy to move, is a problem that is often experienced by many people.

Even though it's trivial, laziness can hinder your activities and make you accustomed to laziness if you don't try to fight it. Usually, laziness arises because there is no motivation that can make someone move or do something.

However, researchers say that this lack of motivation is in fact more influenced by biological factors, not just attitudes and habits.

Why can laziness arise in our brains?

According to information obtained through Live Science, the researchers carried out the scan with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to examine motivation and laziness.

Result scan shows that when people decide to do something, their brain's pre-motor cortex tends to fire just before any other point in the brain that controls movement becomes active.

However, in lazy people, this pre-motor cortex does not turn on because the connection is lost. Researchers suspect that the brain connections that link "the decision to do something" to real action are less effective in lazy people.

As a result, their brains have to make an even greater effort to turn the decisions the brain makes into concrete actions.

Study published in the journal Cerebral Cortex in 2012 found that dopamine levels in the brain can also have an impact on a person's motivation to do something.

Dopamine levels will have different effects in different areas of the brain. Researchers found that hard workers had the most dopamine in two areas of the brain that play important roles in reward and motivation; but had low dopamine levels in the anterior insula or region associated with decreased motivation and perception.

Tips for fighting laziness

Laziness should not be allowed, because the more lazy you are, the more activities you will miss. Laziness can also make your productivity decrease. Therefore, here are some tips to combat laziness:

1. Recall your "why"

Laziness is usually caused by a lack of motivation to do something. Losing your "why" or reason for doing something can make you lose your way.

So, if you start to feel lazy, try asking yourself "why" or "why". For example, "Why do I have to finish school or college assignments?", "Why do I have to finish my thesis as soon as possible?", "Why do I have to learn this?", "Why did I choose this place as my place of work?", And other.

2. Ask what went wrong

Sometimes, laziness occurs when you feel like you're not doing something you love. If you feel lazy, then try asking yourself, "Is this what I want?" or, "What do I really want to do?"

Try asking yourself to know what you are lacking, and listen to your heart.

3. "What should I do?"

If you already know what went wrong and what your "why," you should know what to do now. Do it! If you already know what your "why", then do it with confidence and enthusiasm. If you already know what's wrong, then fix it.

The small changes you make will open up other avenues that can lead to positive changes in your life; including changes such as tidying up the room, eating a healthy diet, and exercising which can often increase your enthusiasm for activities.

So, get ready and make changes, because a bright future awaits you.
