Sodium hyaluronate is a drug used to protect skin ulcers, burns, or wounds from irritation so that the skin can completely heal. Hyaluronate is the same natural substance found in your body. It works by forming a protective layer over the injured area.
How is sodium hyaluronate used?
Use this product on the skin only. Wash your hands before and after using this medicine. Before using, wash and sterilize the injured area as directed by your doctor. Apply a thin layer of the medication gently to the areas of the skin, usually 2 to 3 times a day or as directed by your doctor. Cover the injured area as recommended.
How often you use the drug is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.

How is sodium hyaluronate stored?

What is the sodium hyaluronate dosage for adults?
Hyalgan (R): 2 mL by intra-articular injection into the knee once a week for 5 weeks.
Supartz (TM): 2.5 mL by intra-articular injection into the knee once a week for 5 weeks.
