Nowadays there are many ways that can be used to beautify the desired body part, one of which is a butt injection. This trend, initiated in the 2000s, is getting more and more popular after being echoed by the Kardashians for its results and processes that don't take much time. It's different if you do squats or other sports to tone your butt which can take a long time and extra hard work. But before you spend to go to the doctor for a butt injection, read this article first.
What are butt injections?
A butt injection is a non-surgical operation performed to support or correct the shape of the buttocks through an injection. This procedure must be performed by a surgeon and the surgical period is not long. There are two options for injectable fluids to fill the space in your buttocks, namely using a fat transfer (commonly known as a Brazillian Butt Lift) or using collagen. Both are injected into the buttocks to make the butt look bigger. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in America only approves methods using fat transfer.
How is the butt injection procedure at the doctor?
1. The injection method of fat transfer
In this method, fat from other parts of the body is removed and it is transferred to the patient's buttocks or hips to form the desired curvature of the buttocks silhouette. The fat used is also not fat at random and uses a fat separator. The fat is filtered and then "implanted" into the buttocks. If the fat cells are found a little will not be used during this operation.
2.The collagen injection method (sculptra)
Injecting the buttocks with collagen actually uses sculptra liquid, which is a substance that stimulates the growth of collagen in parts of your body. Although it is still a debate among the FDA, many doctors have performed this operation because the results are quite safe and effective.
This butt injection fills in the empty tissue, generating volume, forming a rounder and firmer butt. Each sculptra injection procedure takes less than an hour and can last up to 2 years. Most patients have 3-4 injections, usually done about two to three weeks apart to get the desired results.
Are there any dangers to butt injections?
As stated above, there are still some injectable ingredients such as silicone and collagen that have not been FDA approved due to serious risks such as bruising, permanent damage to muscle tissue and butt fat, and even death.
There is also a possible risk of swelling and numbness of the buttocks which usually resolves within the first few weeks to the first few months. More severe surgical complications usually include infection, open sores, persistent numbness, persistent swelling and uneven skin contours.
Most people can resume normal activities within a few days to a few weeks after having a butt injection. You may also have difficulty sitting down to adjust your buttocks in the first few weeks.
