Take this medicine regularly to get optimal benefits. To help you remember, take this medication at the same time each day. Do not stop using this medication before consulting a doctor. It is important to continue using the medication even if you don't feel pain. Most people with high blood pressure feel no pain. For the treatment of high blood pressure, it will take at least 4 weeks before you get the optimal benefit from this drug.

What is the dose of telmisartan for adults?

The usual dose for adults with hypertension

Initial dose: 40mg orally once a day, with or without food, assuming adequate intravascular volume.

Maintenance dose: 20 - 80 mg orally once a day.

Adult Dose that Reduces Cardiovascular Risk

Cardiovascular risk reduction patients who are unable to take ACE inhibitors: 20 mg to 80 mg orally once a day with or without food.

It is not known whether doses lower than 80mg are effective in reducing the risk of death or cardiovascular disability.

When starting to take telmisartan to reduce cardiovascular risk, it is advisable to monitor blood pressure, appropriate adjustment of medication to lower blood pressure may be needed.

What side effects can be experienced due to telmisartan?

Can food or alcohol interact with telmisartan?

Overdose symptoms include:

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
