• Fever, sore throat, sore mouth, mouth sores, or infection

Other, less serious side effects are more likely. Continue to take tocainide and talk to your doctor if you experience it

• Dizziness or fatigue
• Stomach pain, vomiting, decreased appetite, or diarrhea
• Headache or blurred vision
• Confusion
• Numbness, tingling, or tremors (shaking)

• Rifampin

Usual Adult Dose for Arrhythmias:

Initial dose: 400 mg orally every 8 hours.

Maintenance dose: 1200-1800 mg / day in 3 divided doses.

Safety and effectiveness are not known in pediatric patients (less than 18 years).

In what dosages and preparations is Tocainide available?

400 mg, 600 mg tablets

What to do in an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or overdose, contact the local emergency services provider (118/119) or immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.

What should I do if I forget to take medicine or forget to take medicine?

If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
