Of the 80 women who completed the study, only 14 women in the gotu kola group had stretch marks compared to 22 women in the placebo group.
3. Rosehip oil for stretch marks
Rosehip oil is made from the fruit or seeds of roses. According to a 2013 study, a moisturizer containing rosehip oil can help prevent stretch marks in pregnant women from getting worse.
4. Pomegranate oil and dragon's blood extract
Pomegranate oil is made from pomegranate seeds, and dragon's blood extract comes from the resin (sap) of the suji tree (Dracaena) the Red one. Both oils contain antioxidants that are anti-inflammatory.
According to a study conducted on 10 women with stretch marks and 10 women without stretch marks .
Cream made from pomegranate oil and dragon's blood extract can improve skin elasticity and moisture in all participants. Researchers report the cream can help get rid of stretch marks.
5. Coconut oil
Coconut oil is very well known not only as a hair nourishing vitamin, but also as a massage oil that is useful for moisturizing the skin.
The vitamin E content in coconut oil can repair the skin and protect the skin from stretching and cracking. Coconut oil is also antibacterial and antifungal in nature.
Research also states that the protein content in coconut oil can promote the regeneration of skin cells
But, don't carelessly use oil for stretch marks
The most common side effect of using essential oils is an allergic reaction. Symptoms of an allergic reaction can include rash, hives, and redness.
To reduce the risk of side effects, it's best to use quality essential oils and you should always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil.
Some of the carrier oils include sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, apricot seed oil, and wheat germ oil.
