Cross-eyed is a condition in which the eye is unable to look in one direction and focus on a distant point. Strabismus, or squints in medical language usually occurs in children or babies who are experiencing physical development. If this condition is not treated immediately, it is not impossible that the child will experience decreased vision ability or even blindness.

How to treat cross eyes?

There are several types of treatment that can be done to improve crossed eyes, namely:

  • Using glasses or lenses, this can help people with crossed eyes focus on seeing objects.

  • Prism lens therapy. These lenses are specially given to patients with crossed eyes. This lens works by reducing the amount of light that enters the eye so that the eye can easily focus on seeing various objects.
  • Doing operation. Surgery is performed with the aim of straightening and correcting the incorrect eye muscles. But usually this method is very expensive to do.

Squint therapy with eye exercises

Eye exercises are an alternative way to treat crossed eyes. However, this does not mean that this therapy can replace the position of medical therapy that sufferers should undergo. Then what are the stages of squint eye therapy by way of eye exercises? Here's how:

Then, move the pencil away and bring it towards the eye. Do this for 15 minutes every day with 100 repetitions. This method can train them to focus.

Brock string. This sport requires 12-30 cm of string and beads of 3 different colors which will be attached to the rope. Each bead is placed at the same distance, then the string that has been attached to the bead is positioned in front of the nose. Then, the patient is asked to look with a focus on the color of the bead in front of him.
