Cursed underarm hair: what is the cause and how to deal with it?

It turns out it's not just hair that can curse. Although strange and rarely heard of, cursed underarm hair is not a new phenomenon. But make no mistake, lice on armpit hair are of different types, you know, with head lice! So, is the way to overcome it different?

Armpit lice are the same as pubic lice

The species of lice that fondle the hair are Pediculus humanus capitis, while species of ticks which is usually found on armpit hair is Phtirus pubis - who often live in pubic hair. As a side note, diseases are caused by ticks Phtirus pubis this is also called pediculosis pubis.

Apart from the armpits, these lice can also land on other hairy areas of the body, such as chest hair, leg hair, beard, and even eyelashes and eyebrows.

Lice in your armpits can spread to other people

Fleas cannot jump or fly from one person to another. It is said to be contagious when there is close contact with a person who is having a curse. The reason is, these tiny parasites have claws that are specially adjusted so that they are able to crawl and cling to their hair. Lice are usually spread by close direct contact allowing them to cross from one person's hair to another's hair.

For example, if you have cursed underarm hair, then you use personal items alternately with the clean ones, such as clothes, sheets, and combs. This habit can lead to the spread of fleas from one person to another. Children are particularly susceptible to head lice because they tend to have close physical contact with one another and borrow personal items more frequently.

Without humans as a place to live, these ticks will die in 1 to 2 days. So, it is unlikely that these ticks can be transmitted if you do not come in direct and close contact with sufferers.

What should be noted is that armpit lice do not land on pets such as dogs or cats. So, don't worry, you won't catch these fleas from your pets.

What are the symptoms of curly armpit hair?

Armpit hair is synonymous with itching in the armpits. It's not actually the body that makes your underarm skin itchy, but it's the body's reaction to the poison in the fleas' saliva that bites the skin to drink your blood. However, how long it lasts depends on how sensitive your skin is.

Apart from itching, the skin of the curled underarms can also show a red rash and small spots with protruding tips resembling insect bites. However, if the colony is small, fleas will not cause significant symptoms.

Nits, also known as nits, often look like tiny, pre-hatched yellow, brown, or brown dots that stick between the hairs of the armpits. After hatching, the remaining shell appears white or transparent, and will remain firmly attached to the hair shaft.

How to solve it?

You can get rid of lice in your armpit hair by regularly cleaning yourself and other contaminated personal items. Wash your underarms with an over the counter lice shampoo. Use the product according to the instructions. You may need to repeat this treatment for seven to ten days. After that, you can apply the anti-flea lotion on your underarm skin. As a further treatment, you may be able to trim your underarm hairs so they don't get too long and return to a home for fleas.

If the drugs and shampoos that are sold do not kill the lice, consult your doctor further. Your doctor may prescribe a stronger medication.
