Functions & Usage
What is the drug Flunisolide used for?
Flunisolide is a drug to prevent and control the symptoms of wheezing (wheezing) and shortness of breath caused by asthma. This drug belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. This medication will work directly on the lungs to make it easier for you to breathe by reducing irritation and inflammation of the airways.
This medicine should be used regularly to prevent breathing problems (wheezing / shortness of breath). This medicine does not work immediately and should not be used to relieve asthma attacks. If an attack occurs, use an inhaler that is useful for treating asthma attacks, as prescribed by your doctor.
OTHER USES: This section lists uses for this drug that are not listed on approved labels, but may be prescribed by your healthcare professional. Use this medication for the conditions listed below only if it has been prescribed by your doctor and health care professional.
This drug can also be used to treat lung diseases such as bronchitis andemphysema.
How do you use the drug Flunisolide?
Shake the jar before use. Inhale this medication by mouth, usually 2 times a day or as recommended by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
If the doctor recommends using 2 or more inhalations from the tube, then for each dose prescribed, wait at least 1 minute. Don't forget to always shake the tube before use.
If you are using the inhaler at the same time, wait at least 1 minute between taking each medication, and take this medication (a corticosteroid) after using the inhaler.
To prevent dry mouth, hoarseness, and yeast infection of the mouth, rinse your mouth with water after using this medicine. Do not swallow the rinse water.
Use this medication exactly as prescribed. Follow the dosing schedule carefully. If you have questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Remember the withdrawal amount used. Discard the tube after using the number of withdrawal labels included in the package, even if it feels as if there is medicine left in the tube. Follow the directions for cleaning the funnel. Do not wash the metal tube or place any part of it in water.
Use this remedy regularly for the best benefits. To help you remember, use it at the same time each day. Do not increase your dose or use this medication more often or for longer than prescribed. Such a method will not be able to improve your condition any faster, which in fact will increase the risk of developing side effects.
Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Some conditions can get worse when this drug suddenly stops. your dose may need to decrease gradually.
Learn which inhalers you should use every day (regulating drugs) and which you should use if your breath suddenly worsens (medicines that can help immediately relieve breathing). Ask your doctor what you should do if you have a worsening cough or shortness of breath, wheezing, increased sputum, worsening peak flow meter readings, wake up at night with difficulty breathing, if you use inhaler inhalers more frequently (more than 2 days each week) or when the inhaler inhaler is not working properly. Learn what kinds of respiratory problems you can treat yourself and which ones require immediate medical attention.
If you are regularly taking a different corticosteroid taken by mouth (such as asprednisone) you should not stop using it unless directed by your doctor. You may have withdrawal symptoms if this drug suddenly stops. Some conditions (such as asthma, allergies) can get worse when this medicine suddenly stops. To prevent these withdrawal symptoms (such as weakness, weight loss, nausea, muscle pain, headache, fatigue, dizziness), your doctor may direct you to slowly decrease the dose of the medicine you are taking after you take Flunisolide. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more detailed information, and report any withdrawal reactions immediately. See also Warning section.
You may begin to feel this medication is working within a week, but it may take 4 weeks before optimal benefits from this drug appear. Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it gets worse.
