First aid when the penis is caught in a zipper
1. Don't panic
When you accidentally pinch your genital organs, you will reflexively feel panic. But try to control yourself and stay calm. When you panic, you can do things that will make things worse.
Do not pull the pinched penis by force as this can cause further injury. Also, avoid cutting the zippers yourself, as there is a risk of making the penis wound worse.
2. Apply mineral oil
Steven M. Selbst, lecturer and vice chair of pediatrics at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, said the first thing that needs to be done when the penis is pinched is to apply mineral oil to it. If there isn't, you can use baby oil (baby oil) or petroleum jelly.
Apply the oil all over your genitals as well as the zippers. Then, let stand for about 20 to 30 minutes. Usually this will help the skin soften and release itself from the zippers that trapped it. However, if it doesn't go away, you need to take the next step.
3. Go to the doctor
Cutting zippers is not as easy as it looks. Therefore, this needs to be done by an expert. Don't linger any longer, go to the doctor immediately to get the right treatment. The reason is, the pinched penis will usually experience swelling or bleeding.
Usually the doctor will apply anesthetic cream when trying to remove it from the zipper. This is so that you don't feel too bad a pain. In addition, the doctor will also give you a drinking pain reliever to relieve the sensation.
Do not attempt to self-medicate as infections can occur. In addition, there is no need to be ashamed of asking your family or loved ones to take you to the hospital.
