As a person gets older, many body changes occur, including changes in hair color. Gray hair usually occurs when a person enters old age. The appearance of gray hair begins when you enter the age of 30-40 years. Don't worry, this hair color change is perfectly natural.
But have you ever imagined that gray hair is not only on the hair of the head? It turns out that all the hair on your body turns white. How can?
Gray hair doesn't just grow on the head
Gray hair or hair turning white is actually the result of pigmentation which decreases with age. So you see, in the body there is such a thing as melanocyte cells which function to deliver pigments to the hair and hairs on the body. When you experience the aging process, the melanocyte cells die one by one, so the pigment to the hair is reduced. And finally the hair is graying slowly.
Maybe all this time you just thought that the hair on your head would turn gray. But it turns out that all your hair and fine hairs will slowly change. On the human body there are several parts of the body that are covered with hair and fine hairs. All these parts will of course change color, because the color that regulates is the melanocyte cells.
Then which parts of the body will be covered with gray hair? Pubic hair and hair on your armpits can also experience this discoloration. So don't be surprised if someday you see that the hair on that part of the body has changed color.
Even in men, the hair on the chest and beard will also change color. Maybe you often see an old man who has a beard that is gray and is no longer black. This is due to his aging.
Then can gray hair be prevented?
If it is the result of aging, then nothing can prevent it. Like it or not, you will experience this phase at a later date. even a decrease in the amount of melanin in the body, not only results in a change in hair color. but also the color of your eyes and skin will change too - if you pay close attention. However, the most noticeable changes are only in the hair.
Currently, there have been many studies trying to "trick" genes so as not to make melanocyte cells damaged and die. However, until now no one has succeeded in doing so. Maybe in the future there are drugs or therapies that can slow the appearance of gray hair.
