What is ciclesonide for?

Ciclesonide is a drug used to prevent and reduce symptoms of wheezing and shortness of breath caused by asthma. This drug belongs to a class of corticosteroid drugs that work by reducing swelling or inflammation in the airways of the lungs to make the airway easier.

This medicine must be taken regularly in order to work optimally. This drug will also be ineffective if consumed to relieve sudden asthma attacks. If an asthma attack occurs, use the inhaler immediately.

How is ciclesonide used?

• Blow your nose first before using the drug.
• Shake the package before using the medicine.
• Remove the cap and follow the instructions and make sure that your bottle is in top shape every time you buy a new bottle or if you have not used the medicine for 4 days. A good bottle is when the bottle is properly pumped.
• Use this medication according to your doctor's instructions. Do not use more than 2 sprays in your nostrils a day as this can increase the risk of side effects.
• Avoid spraying the drug in the eyes or directly into the nasal seal (the wall that divides the two nostrils). Follow the instructions provided for using this spray.
• After each use, wipe the tip of the sprayer with clean tissue and put the lid back on. If the nozzle is clogged, do not open it with a sharp object.
• To get maximum results, use this drug regularly. To remind yourself, use it at the same time every day.
• This drug does not work directly. Therefore, use ciclesonide to prevent allergy symptoms due to weather factors.
• Pay attention to the amount of spray you use per package. Discard the packaging if you have used the spray amount specified in the manufacturer's packaging or more than 4 months after opening the bottle.
• Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or gets worse.

How is ciclesonide stored?

What is the ciclesonide dosage for adults?

To treat rhintis allergy in adults, the dose of ciclesonide is

• 50 microgram / spray nasal spray. Spray 2 times into each nostril once a day.
• Inhalation 37 microgram / spray. Spray it once into each nostril once a day.

What is the ciclesonide dosage for children?

To treat rhintis allergy in children, the dose of ciclesonide is;

• Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis 2 sprays into each nostril once a day.
• Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis for 12 years or more 1 spray per nostril once a day.

Ciclesonide side effects

What side effects can be experienced due to ciclesonide?

The most common side effects of using the ciclesonide drug are:

• Headache
• Nosebleed

Ciclesonide Drug Warnings and Cautions

What should be known before using ciclesonide?

You should not use this drug if you are allergic to ciclesonide. To ensure your safety using this medication, tell your doctor if you have:

• Asthma
• Glaucoma
• Cataract
• Tuberculosis or lung infection
• Pain in your nose that hasn't healed
• Your nose has recently been injured or has recently been operated on
• If you are taking oral, inhaled, or injectable steroids such as cortisone, methylprednisolone, Prednisone, beclomethasone (Beclovent), flunisolide (AeroBid), fluticasone (Advair, Flovent), triamcinolone (Azmacort), and others.

Long-term use of steroid medications can inhibit a child's growth. Tell your doctor if your child is taking this medicine and is not growing or gaining weight as they should.

Is ciclesonide safe for pregnant and lactating women?

There are no adequate studies regarding the risks of using this drug in pregnant or breastfeeding women. What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
