Maybe you've heard the myth that says that babies cry every evening before Maghrib, which means there are spirits around them. Of course this is not what actually happened, when viewed from a child's health perspective. Here are the facts you should know.
Babies cry every evening, why?
It's not just your baby who often cries in the afternoons before Maghrib. Almost all babies in the world cry every evening, and this is normal. Babies usually start crying in the afternoon at around four to six weeks of age.
Even so, the world of health has yet to know for sure what causes it. Some child health experts associate the phenomenon of crying in the evening with the baby's development process. One of the most common reasons is because a baby is starving and wants to feed.
During this time, babies often feel restless and uneasy, so they will cry to channel the emotions they feel. The drastic change in time, from day to night, may also make the baby get too much stimulation from the surrounding environment which makes the baby stressed and restless. But then because the baby feels restless, it is difficult for them to latch on to the mother's breast properly so it is difficult to get breast milk.
A hungry stomach coupled with restlessness at the same time can be the reason why babies often cry in the afternoon. The phenomenon of a baby crying in the afternoon or before sunset is usually known as the arsenic hour or arsenic hour . This habit will start to diminish around 12 weeks of age.
There are several things you can do to make your baby calmer in the afternoon
