What is surgical removal of scrotal cysts?

Cysts on the testicles (scrotum) are not at risk of cancer. Generally, cysts do not show symptoms and do not require special treatment or therapy, but in some cases, cysts will require surgery to remove the abnormal tissue.

There are two types of benign cysts, namely:

hydrocele: fluid clots that occur in the protective membrane of the testicles

In the case of a hydrocele cyst, the surgeon will drain the fluid out of the testicle, then sew it back up or remove the tissue. For epididymal cysts, the doctor will remove the cyst. The doctor may remove part or all of the epididymis.

What should I do after the surgical removal of scrotal cysts?

After surgery, complications or scrotal tissue bleeding are rare in reported cases. If complications occur, they are treated fairly easily; the problems that may arise will disappear as the process of recovery.

Unless the cyst is very severe and has a major impact on your health and quality of life, it is not recommended to have a cyst removed to treat this problem.

You are allowed to go home the same day after this procedure. Usually, you will be able to return to your normal routine (work or school) after 2 - 4 weeks.
