The characteristics of healthy and unhealthy skin
Basically, healthy skin is free from various problems or abnormal signs. However, what are the exact characteristics?
It is important for you to know whether your skin is healthy or not. The reason is, this will help you to get the right skin care products for the future.
Well, there are four important components that help you measure skin health, including:
1. Skin color

Even though everyone has a variety of skin colors, skin color is still the benchmark for healthy skin. Whether your skin tone is black, white, olive, or brown, the important thing is that you have to have an even skin tone.
Unhealthy skin is generally characterized by a discoloration (pigmentation) that spreads across the surface of the skin. For example, brown spots due to sun exposure or black spots from acne scars. If there are white patches that are itchy on the skin, this is a sign of tinea versicolor. Redness of the skin is a sign of inflammation or damage to the skin.
Dull skin tone and dark circles around the eyes can also indicate that your skin is tired and dehydrated.
2. Skin texture
Healthy skin will definitely feel supple, soft, and smooth. If you feel rough skin like there are small bumps; dry and wrinkled; or loosening, this indicates that your skin is problematic.
Usually rough skin is caused by acne, scars, blackheads, wrinkles, or irritation.
3. Moisturized skin

Healthy skin definitely feels moisturised because it means that water intake for the skin is fulfilled. Water maintains the balance of sebum on the surface of the skin, preventing acne or oily skin, and plays an important role in collagen production.
Skin that lacks water can feel dry, which can cause signs of skin aging faster than it should. Dry skin usually itches easily and scaly or peels.
4. Sensation on the skin
If your skin is healthy, there will be no strange or uncomfortable sensations on the skin. Conversely, if you have problems with your skin, you may feel itching, a burning sensation, or tightness like a pull.
This sensation usually arises from using skin care products or cosmetics that are too harsh on your skin. Substances that are too harsh can cause reactions such as discoloration and cause an uncomfortable sensation on the skin. We recommend that you stop using the product so that the skin does not get damaged.
