3. Lichen planus

According to the AAD (American Academy of Dermatology), the cause is most likely an autoimmune disease, although so far it is not certain. Therefore, although it is rare in people, lichen planus can cause permanent loss and can be fatal if not treated quickly.
4. Psoriasis of the scalp
This disorder, called psoriasis, actually does not only occur on the scalp, but also on the forehead, back of the neck and head, to the back of the ears. If you experience the symptoms below, it is most likely a sign that psoriasis is attacking your scalp.
- Itching until the scalp bleeds
- Dry scalp
- Exfoliation of the scalp
- Thick red skin on the scalp

5. Liken simplex
Chronic lichen simplex is a condition that causes severe itching. The initial symptoms that appear are irritation of the scalp and a feeling of itching that doesn't stop.
