For those of you who want to have a baby soon, various ways will usually be done to get pregnant quickly. Food is an important factor to consider if you want to get pregnant quickly. Some foods can facilitate your pregnancy program and some can actually hinder you. So, what are the dietary restrictions to get pregnant quickly?
Food abstinence to get pregnant quickly
1. Fish high in mercury
Fish high in mercury is one of the taboos if you want to get pregnant quickly. Eating fish twice a week is good, even highly recommended for health. However, not all types of fish are good for consumption. Some types of fish have higher levels of mercury than other fish. These include marlin, orange roughy, tilefish, swordfish, shark, king mackerel, and big eye tuna (big eye tuna).
Mercury is a naturally occurring element found in seawater. Therefore, certain types of fish contain very high mercury and are not recommended for consumption. Quoted from the BBC, research shows that high levels of mercury in the blood result in decreased fertility in both men and women.
Not only that, mercury will also remain in the body for more than one year which can harm the brain and nervous system of the fetus. Therefore, you can do to avoid fish that are high in mercury to get pregnant quickly.
2. Food packaging

Packaged food and drinks are usually packaged in containers made of cans or plastic. BPA (bisphenol A) is a chemical found in some plastic containers such as water bottles, food containers, and aluminum can liners.
Quoted from The Bump, research has found that high exposure to BPA from food and beverage containers can interfere with male and female fertility. These chemicals interfere with fertility by reducing the number of healthy sperm and egg cells. Therefore, try to avoid exposure to BPA by not buying packaged foods and drinks.
3. Foods that contain trans fats
A number of studies have shown that trans fat is a type of fat that is very bad for health. The reason is, this type of fat can increase levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) quickly. Cholesterol that is too high is a risk factor for heart disease.
For women who are trying to get pregnant, trans fats increase the risk of ovulation disorders (the release of an egg from the ovaries), causing fertility problems. Trans fats can also decrease insulin sensitivity.
Typically, trans fats are found in hydrogenated vegetable oil, which is the type of oil commonly used for frying. So fried foods are of course high in trans fats. You also need to avoid fast food which of course contains trans fats for the success of your pregnancy program.
Apart from food, these are types of drinks that need to be avoided in order to get pregnant immediately
1. Caffeine
If you and your partner are accustomed to consuming caffeinated drinks, then from now on, reduce the portions. The reason is, caffeine has a negative impact on female fertility and can increase the risk of miscarriage.
Quoted from Healthline, research shows that women who consume more than 500 mg of caffeine every day take 9.5 months longer to get pregnant. However, just drinking a cup of coffee every day is still safe for couples who are working on a baby.
2. Alcoholic drinks
One study involving 430 couples who drank five glasses of alcoholic beverages per week experienced fertility problems. Another study involving 7,393 women also found that excessive alcohol consumption increases your risk of having difficulty having children.
However, studies have not found the dose of how much alcohol is consumed that can cause infertility. Therefore, it is better to "fast" alcohol as long as you and your partner are working on a pregnancy until there is further research that can confirm it.
