Pregnancy young is a critical period where this is the beginning of the formation of the fetus. Pregnant women also still have to adapt to their new conditions where many changes have occurred in the body of pregnant women. Not only that, various problems can also occur when pregnant women are young. So, pregnant women should pay more attention to their condition and pregnancy.
Some problems during early pregnancy
Changes during pregnancy make pregnant women experience problems during early pregnancy. This problem is usually not a serious one. However, if not handled properly, it is possible that this problem becomes serious and can interfere with fetal development.
Some of the problems that can occur during early pregnancy are:
1. Bleeding
Bleeding early in pregnancy is normal. This can range from mild to severe. Usually, bleeding is also accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen and in the back. These symptoms do not mean you have problems in your early pregnancy.
However, bleeding during early pregnancy can also be a sign of a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. Bleeding that is a sign of a miscarriage is usually accompanied by very severe abdominal cramps and the presence of tissue or water draining from the vagina. Miscarriage can occur because the fetus cannot develop normally.
Meanwhile, bleeding that is a sign of an ectopic pregnancy is usually accompanied by a very sharp abdominal pain. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg develops outside the uterus, preventing the egg from developing into a fetus. You should immediately consult a doctor if you feel pain in your stomach or experience signs of shock (such as wrinkled skin, low pulse, and dizziness), as these are signs the ectopic pregnancy has dissolved.
2. Nausea and vomiting
You also usually feel nausea and vomiting during early pregnancy. Almost all pregnant women experience this. This problem will not affect your baby's growth and will usually disappear at 12-14 weeks of gestation. If you can handle it well, nausea and vomiting may not be a serious problem for you in early pregnancy. However, severe nausea and vomiting can also interfere with your pregnancy. This can cause you to experience weight loss, fatigue, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalance in the body.
You should immediately consult a doctor if you experience:
- Very frequent recurrent vomiting
- Bleeding when vomiting
- The urine is darker in color and you don't urinate for more than 8 hours
- Vomits after eating and drinking
- Feel very weak, dizzy, or want to pass out when standing
- Abdominal pain
- Fever
- Faster heart rate
3. High fever
Young pregnant women can also experience fever problems. A fever early in pregnancy can be a sign of a more serious problem. Although, sometimes a fever may just be caused by the flu.
A high fever early in pregnancy can be linked to the risk of the baby having birth defects or neural tube defects, because the baby's neural tubes form during the first trimester of pregnancy. Increased body temperature during pregnancy and accompanied by rashes and muscle aches can also be signs that you have an infection, such as cytomegalovirus (CMV), toxoplasma, and parvovirus infection. This infection can certainly affect the baby in the womb.
If you have a high fever without being accompanied by colds and flu when you are young, you should immediately consult a doctor.
4. Whitish
Whitish is also normal for you to experience when you are young. However, severe vaginal discharge can also be a sign of an infection or sexually transmitted infection. Be careful, this can affect the growth of your baby in the womb. You should see your doctor immediately if you experience vaginal discharge that smells strange, colored, vaginal itching or hurts.
